About me

LIFE IS A TRIP, AND TRAVELLING IS LIVING TWICE

My mum has quoted to me this sentence of Omar Khayyam thousands of times, since I was a little girl, and most probably is thanks to this mantra that all is begun.

I started to travel with my parents at the age of 5 and I have never stopped.

For me the Trip is not just a passion, is my essence, is my way to intend the life.

I have always promised myself that in case I would ever been a mom I would use the best commitment possible to pass down to my son/daughter the real spirit of the journey, because a travel is not just visit new places, but learn to see the world with open wide eyes.

I was born in a freezing December 20th, under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius, famous to be the sign of the dreamers and  travelers ,and even at that time I couldn’t be aware of that, my wanderlust’s destiny was already written.

My teenage life has been similar to hundred others, but in the deep of myself I was feeling different;  I was (and I’m still) a full dreamer and often my life’s plans has brought me too far from the reality I was supposed to follow. I have had an affectionate family that however has unconsciously influenced the most part of my choices.

I was dreaming to become a Journalist, travelling around the world to report the people my point of view, but somehow Journalism at that time wasn’t intended to be the “right” way for me:  “the Journalist’s job is difficult, dangerous, and last but not least there are too many journalists without an employment… you need to find something more safe… that can give you a real future!”

I still can remember my Dad’s words…

So, that young, fragile, and stupid girl, decided to abandon her dream, she decided to stop fighting and to follow a different life.

I Don’t regret anything now: I have learned that everything happens with a specific aim.

I attended a Linguistic High school, in which a shattering love for foreign languages came out; then I took a University degree in Marketing and Economics at the University of Milan and that  was the occasion to exit home and start to live on my own; I left Emilia Romagna pretty sure that I would never come back: I was expecting  to live and work in big cities like London, New York… but life surprises  you always …and just 6 months after my Master degree I met my actual husband in the small city of Imola in the heart of Romagna.

I settled down in this quiet, green and lovely town and in 2017 I become the mum of Arianna, the most bright light of my existence.

My dependence on travels has never stopped during all these years, and I have always created, planned and organized by myself the itineraries for the trips of my family, my friends and acquaintances with good results. In the past many people suggested me to open a Travel blog, in relation to my commitment on the journey’s planning… but somehow, that inner uncertainty about my competence always won : I felt don’t measure up to manage a blog, to write in an attractive style…

Then the Pandemic came and something has turned on inside me.

In March 2020 I realized that my dreams were all still there; the inner need to communicate to people, the love for Travels, and the new awareness that was time to do something for myself, has brought me through the most incredible year of my life: next to all the difficulties, worries, and moments of discouragement consequent to Corona Virus,  I was creating Atravelwithsara and now, almost one year later, I feel so grateful and  proud of what I have built up.

Even If I can’t be never satisfied to discover new locations all over the world, I have decided to focus my Blog on my native country: Italy, because despite all the negative features we are famous for… in my opinion this remains the best country of the world.

It’s true… billions of articles have been written about the beautiful Dolce vita land… that’s why I have decided to write about what is hidden to the major part of the foreign tourists: in my articles you will find a mom’s perspective to some unconventional tours in the incredible Italy! Are you planning to visit Italy with your family? You don’t want your children get bored during your trip to Bel Paese? You want discover typical Italian hallmarks and you want to explore uncommon Italian places?

You are on the right place!

P.S. please remember that English is not my mother tongue… so don’t be too severe and please tolerate the eventual mistakes you will probably find 🙂
